Injectables

Injectables

Injectable treatments such as fillers and neurotoxins are options to correct the signs of aging skin such as fine lines, wrinkles and volume loss. Cosmetic injectables are fast, relatively painless and require minimal downtime.

Fillers

Dermal fillers are cosmetic treatments used to restore volume and integrity to the skin to diminish fine lines and produce collagen over time creating a long-lasting youthful appearance.

Our faces naturally lose volume as we age, and dermal fillers including Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Radiesse, and Sculptra are used to restore or enhance volume. Fillers are used to plump lips, enhance facial contours, soften wrinkles, improve the look of scars, and removal dark circles and hollowing under the eyes. This procedure is quick and requires no downtime.  Results are immediately noticeable and can last up to 2 years depending on the type of filler used. Your physician will help you determine which product is best suited for your concerns.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

The most common type of dermal fillers is based on Hyaluronic acid (HA). Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring sugar found in human skin. Hyaluronic acid based products restore volume to the skin to correct wrinkles and folds and plump lips. Fillers may also be used for a jowl lift and to define the jawline. The effects of Hyaluronic acid based fillers may last up to 24 months.

Prism Dermatology is proud to offer a variety of Hyaluronic Acid Fillers including Restylane®, Belotero Balance® and the Juvederm® collection of fillers including Juvederm® Voluma.

Collagen-Stimulating Fillers

Radiesse® stimulates your body’s natural collagen to grow around the injected material. Because Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxyapatite, a mineral found in human bones, it is eventually safely absorbed by the body. Visible results from treatment may last up to a year.

Sculptra® Aesthetic is an injectable filler made of polylactic acid and is effective for restoring facial volume. Sculptra Aesthetic stimulates collagen growth to help restore facial contours and plump sunken features thereby creating a fuller, more youthful appearance. The visible results of Sculptra Aesthetic injections may last for years.

KYBELLA

Kybella® is an injectable treatment that addresses submental fullness or the “double chin.” Kybella contains a naturally-occurring molecule called Deoxycholic acid which aids in destroying fat cells. This results is a reduction of submental fullness and an improved jawline and chin profile.

Neurotoxins

Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin used in skin care to temporarily reduce frown lines, smile lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines.  Botulinum toxin has been a cornerstone in anti-aging treatments for decades. We offer a full complement of the neurotoxin family including Botox Cosmetic, Dysport and Xeomin. These treatment work by preventing the nerve signals that cause facial muscle contractions thereby relaxing the facial muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles. Neurotoxin treatments are quick 10-minute treatments with minimal downtime and minimal side effects. Common side effects include temporary discomfort at injection sites. Desired results may be noticed as early as within in 48 hours and may last 3-6 months. Our board certified Dermatologist at Prism Dermatology will assess which treatment is best for your needs.

Neurotoxins for Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Excessive sweating is a medical condition that involves overactive sweat glands. Neurotoxins such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin can be used to treat hyperhidrosis or overactive sweating by blocking the signal that activates the overactive sweat glands.
