This procedure inserts very fine short needles into the top layers of skin which stimulates skin to produce new elastic and collagen. This procedure is requires minimal downtime and is relatively painless. Microneedling is commonly performed on the face, neck and chest. A series of treatments are recommended for optimal results.
WHAT CAN MICRONEEDLING IMPROVE?
Microneedling can be performed to treat a wide range of skin conditions including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation
- Stretch marks

- Acne scarring
- Enlarged pores
WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED DURING A MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?
The skin is anesthetized with a topical numbing agent. The patented SkinPen microneedling device is gently applied to the skin in both linear and circular fashions. The micro-needles are inserted into the skin in a rapid but controlled fashion at varying depths that range between 0.25mm to 2.5mm in length until the entire treatment area is completed. The micro channels created by the SkinPen allow increase absorption into the deeper layers of the skin. Additional topical serums containing hyaluronic acids, growth factors or peptides can then be applied to the skin to maximize the final result.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Patient can expect to experience mild redness for about 24 hours after the procedure. Most patients can return to normal activity the same day of treatment. More aggressively treated patients may experience mild swelling and crusting of the skin for up to a week.
